We helped out at the 6th annual Ride the Point, a bike ride for pancreatic cancer, in honor of the late Rotarian Jim Krause. At the event, we wore the signature neon yellow t-shirts while directing and cheering on bikers with our cowbells along the course near the Spanish Landing. We had such a great time and enjoyed the energy and spirit of the ride!
We had a blast cleaning up the beach area near Crystal Pier on PB with our fellow PB Rotaractors! We split up into different groups to tackle separate sections of the beach. Afterwards, as per tradition, we enjoyed some brunch at Broken Yolk.
Hello friends! This past Saturday we had a great time at Juniper Canyon (with San Diego Parks and Rec) beautifying the area by picking up trash, trimming trees and removing weeds, and watering the plants!
Started the year off strong with TWO service events this weekend! We enjoyed the beach and water while supporting Surfers Unite Rotarian Fellowship at 100 Wave Challenge for Boys to Men. We helped take down and clean up at the end of the event. So grateful for the amazing sunshine and friends and we are proud of all the surfers for taking on the challenge and supporting an amazing cause!
P.S. Yes, we did get free back adjustments from the chiropractor at the massage booth!
For our first official service event of the year, we helped out at Help the Homeless 1st Saturdays event where we made PB&J sandwiches on campus before heading to downtown San Diego to help sort out clothing donations and put together care packages. After organizing everything, we met up at the Childrens Park and handed out clothing, food, and care packages.
Even though we are technically "not active" during the summer, we still look for opportunities to serve our community! We had a wonderful time filling backpacks with all sorts of school supplies for young children and teens at the Boys and Girls Club of San Diego alongside our friends at the La Jolla Golden Triangle Rotary Club!
